You have your new iPhone 16, but now you’re wondering how to transfer all your data from your old iPhone. Don’t worry, it’s quite simple. Here, I’ll guide you step-by-step on how to easily transfer your photos, contacts, apps, and everything else. Let’s begin!
Transfer Using Quick Start
The simplest and fastest way is through Quick Start. If you have both phones, you can use this method.
- Keep the old iPhone near the new iPhone: Both phones should have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
- Quick Start pop-up will appear on the new iPhone: You need to use the Apple ID from your old iPhone.
- Use the camera of the old iPhone: An animation will appear on the new iPhone’s screen, which you need to scan with the old iPhone’s camera.
- Data transfer process will start: Just follow the instructions, and all data will be transferred.
Transfer via iCloud Backup
If you use iCloud, you can create a backup of your old iPhone and easily transfer it to your new iPhone.
- Backup the old iPhone: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > tap ‘Back Up Now’.
- Turn on the new iPhone: The setup screen will appear; here, you need to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Choose ‘Restore from iCloud Backup’: Log in with your Apple ID and select the most recent backup.
- Wait for the process: The backup restoration may take some time; keep the phone connected to Wi-Fi.
Transfer via iTunes/Finder
If you have a computer, you can also transfer data using iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
- Connect the old iPhone to the computer: Open iTunes/Finder and create a backup of your old iPhone.
- Connect the new iPhone: During setup, choose “Restore from iTunes/Finder Backup”.
- Select the backup: All data will be transferred to your new iPhone.
Use ‘Move to iOS’ (Android to iPhone)
If you are switching from Android to iPhone, you can use the Move to iOS app.
- Download ‘Move to iOS’ app on your Android phone: Get it from the Play Store.
- Select ‘Move Data from Android’ on the setup screen of your new iPhone: You will receive a code.
- Enter the code on your Android phone: All data like contacts, messages, and photos will be transferred.
